My favourite part of a cruise is:

Keeping the Memories

Photographs

It is important to have photographs and holiday videos to keep the special memories of your cruise alive. To be able to relive precious moments visiting strange lands and places is one of the modern world’s greatest gifts - one that was largely denied to our ancestors.

However many of us snap away like mad and 90% of the photos we take end up being thrown away or never looked at. And much of the video that is shot is difficult to watch and ends up never being edited and presented.

The trick is to take photos and shoot videos wisely and the most valuable tip for this is: remember that quality is better than quantity.

A single, well lit, well composed photo of a group of friends in the bar is worth twenty hastily snapped shots which cut off people's heads, spoil half the shot with a reflection of the flash from a mirror, or lose all detail because there is a bright window just behind the subject.

With video images, it is much better to keep the camera still and leave the zoom untouched

Here are some top tips to ensure that you will be able to pick up your photos and screen your videos in years to come and remember, not the errors you made in taking them, but the special and wonderful moments with family and friends on that vacation.

Remember that the main secret of great photography and film making is the same as any artistic endeavour - the ability to actually see what you are looking at, and then compose it for the canvas or camera lens.
